Induction shrink fit is an induction heat process involving heating a metal component between 150 °C and 300 °C to expand it for assembly, after which the part cools to room temperature resulting in contraction and superimposed forces are transformed into the solid body of the work-piece. Normally in the case of aluminum which is a metal having low melting temperature, ultrasonic welding is carried out within the lower range of temperature and medium or higher range for the metals like (low/medium) carbon steels. The method avoids altering mechanical properties but allows components to be worked.
